How do I know if Physiotherapy will help me?
Physiotherapy aims to identify the cause of the pain rather than just ease the pain. This is done through assessing joint and muscle movement to identify abnormalities. We use mobilisations, massage, exercises and ultrasound as treatment techniques. We can also arrange acupuncture and Pilates as adjuncts to your treatment.
If still unsure as to whether physiotherapy can help you, please don't hesitate to call for further advice.
What will my assessment include?
The assessment will last approximately 40 minutes. It will include an initial conversation with you and your Physiotherapist who will ask you a series of questions about your current problem. Your assessment on the first day will involve several tests to ascertain the nature of your injury or pain.
How much is a treatment?
Our charges are £35 for your initial assessment and £30 for return treatments. Discounts are available for students with a valid NUS card.
How do I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment by phone. Please call 07793 727 479.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on your problem! Some conditions can be treated in 1 or 2 visits, while others, such as whiplash or knee ligament damage can require multiple sessions. At your initial assessment we will hopefully be able to give you an estimate of how many sessions you may need.
Are your Physiotherapists registered?
Yes, our physiotherapists are registered with the Health Professions Council and we are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
We do work closely with General Practitioners, consultants and specialists, however you do not need a referral unless your treatment is covered by private medical insurance. We can usually deal directly with your insurer for payment. Please contact them prior to making an appointment.
Can I use my BUPA membership?
Yes, we are registered with leading medical insurance companies. We do have a provider number which you can pass on to your insurer if required.
How long will I wait for an appointment?
If you are self-funding and are available we can usually see you the same day.
